Material Facts
Residential Sign Materials
Powder Coated Steel Signs:
  • Comes in 24 gauge and 20 gauge thickness; in windy areas 20 gauge is preferred by some people as the material is a little thicker and thus heavier. Material hangs straight.
  • A thin galvanizing coating for rust and corrosion resistance is applied to every piece of steel.
  • We apply a coating of polyester powder onto the galvanized coating to produce a clean smooth finish that is ideal for printing inks and durability. Powder coating has high resistance to cracking and peeling under normal use conditions.
  • Powder coated material has a medium high gloss finish.
  • We have a three year limited warranty on powder coated signs for printing ink peeling and fading.
  • Clear coating on digitally printed powder coated signs will help reduce scratching of the printing inks.
  • This material is recommended for all properties where a top quality sign is desired.
Reflective Powder Coated Signs:
  • Best results when the reflective vinyl is adhered to the powder coated steel panel which is used as the backing.
  • We use an industrial vinyl that has the highest reflectivity in the industry.
  • Our inks allow signs viewed at night to be seen with the same color combinations as daytime viewing.
  • Reflective signs are highly scratch and rust resistant.
  • Reflective vinyl lets your signs work for you at night as well as day time.
  • Reflective vinyl has very good ink adhesion.
Poly Signs (Polyethylene):
  • Standard screen printed signs will have a low gloss or matte finish where the poly has not been printed. The printing inks will have a medium to medium high gloss finish.
  • Digitally printed signs will have a medium to medium high gloss finish.
  • Clear coat on digitally printed signs will help reduce scratching of the printing inks.
  • Due to the fiber alignment issues during extrusion poly will bow especially during temperature extremes and as it ages.
  • Poly comes in .050, .100 and .150 inch thickness and the thinner product can exhibit some transparency.
  • .150 is recommended for hanging panels to minimize bowing.
  • Poly exhibits very good ink adhesion when the proper pre-printed surface treatment is used.
  • Poly is a very durable material that will not corrode.
Corrugated Plastic Signs:
  • Corrugated plastic comes in 1/8 inch and 3/8 inch thickness.
  • This product is our most economical sign material.
  • It exhibits good weatherability.
  • The 1/8 inch product should last about one year under normal conditions.
  • The 3/8 inch product should last about two years under normal conditions.
  • Signs are lightweight and the material resists yellowing.
  • The 1/8 inch product can exhibit some transparency in sunny conditions.
Styrene Signs:
  • This material is available in .060 and .100 thickness.
  • Styrene signs are clear coated to resist yellowing and becoming brittle. The clear coating gives the material a medium to medium high gloss. The clear coat will also reduce scratching of the printing inks.
  • Ink adheres to styrene very well.
  • A good alternative to polyethylene as it exhibits little bowing when used as a hanging sign.
  • This material will not corrode.
Banner Material Signs:
  • Material support cloth is made from polyester with a coating of PVC.
  • The material has a weight of 13 ounces per square yard.
  • Grommets are placed at 24 inch intervals unless otherwise specified.
  • Banner material is durable, white and flexible.
  • Our material will withstand tearing and fading and is made for either indoor or outdoor applications, as it will withstand all types of weather conditions.
  • The printing ink system is designed especially for the flexibility needed for banner material and has excellent weatherability and is crack resistant.
Commercial Sign Materials
Powder Coated Steel Signs:
  • Comes in 24 gauge and 20 gauge thickness
  • 20 gauge is recommended when supporting 48x48 inch panels on two sides only
  • 24 gauge can be used if 48x48 inch panel is supported on four sides
  • Both the 24 and 20 gauge materials are available up to 48x48 inches
  • Steel panels are galvanized to resist rust and corrosion
  • We apply a coating of polyester powder to provide a clean smooth finish that is ideal for printing and durability
  • We have a three year limited warranty on powder coated signs for printing ink peeling and fading
  • Clear coating on digitally printed signs will help reduce scratching of the printing inks
  • Can be printed single or double faced
  • 24 gauge steel weighs approximately one pound per square foot
Corrugated Plastic Signs:
  • Corrugated plastic comes in 1/8 and 3/8 inch thickness
  • The 1/8 inch or 4 mm. panels are only recommended to use when printed single faced and fully supported on the back side
  • The 3/8 inch or 10 mm. panels are very rigid, but we recommend not more than an eight foot span between supports
  • Both 1/8 inch and 3/8 inch corrugated plastic are available in sizes up to 4x8 feet
  • This is our most economical and light weight sign material
  • The 1/8 material product should last about one year under normal outdoor conditions
  • The 3/8 material product should last about two years under normal outdoor conditions
  • Signs are light weight and resist yellowing
  • Intense light conditions can cause transparency with 1/8 inch material
  • Clear coating on digitally printed signs will help reduce scratching of the printing inks
  • Can be printed single or double faced
Omega-Bond Signs:
  • Omega-Bond is two painted aluminum sheets bonded on each side to a solid polyethylene core which makes it rigid but lightweight
  • Omega-Bond is flat, durable, moisture resistant, and the printing inks have excellent resistance to peeling and fading
  • The surface is baked polyester paint ready for printing
  • There is no swelling, warping, bowing or delaminating with this product
  • It is the perfect outdoor material
  • The material exhibits a professional semi-gloss appearance
  • Omega-Bond signs come in sizes up to 5x10 feet
