Your real estate signs are an extension of you, your brand, and your business. In many instances, it is the first interaction people have with you and/or the property you have listed. This is THE first impression moment! Just as you want and expect the house, building, surrounding yard or property to be well-kept, tidy, presentable and appealing to passersby and potential buyers, so too should your signage be visually appealing and captivating, to ensure that your best foot is placed firmly forward.

It needs to showcase what a dynamic and amazing agent you are and what an incredible property you are selling. At Lowen Sign Company, we are passionate about producing the best possible real estate signs and accessories. Read on for more information about the key elements of great real estate signs.

Quality Of Your Real Estate Sign

Great real estate signs are not only eye-catching; they are made with quality materials that can withstand harsh weather and long periods of time. Signs made with cheap and weak materials will look cheap and weak pretty quickly. A little wind, a little rain and your sign will look flimsy, shabby, or may not even stand at all.

As an agent, you wouldn't want a viewer's impression of you to be that of a cheap, corner-cutting, unprofessional. Let's not forget that your property-owner client would probably not appreciate you tarnishing the curb-appeal and selling potential with a dilapidated sign that is rusty, falling apart or lying down on the job.

Lowen signs are made of only the best-quality materials. From aluminum sign posts, to angle iron, round rod or A-frame units, we powder coat finish our signs to give them a beautiful, glossy look and make them rust resistant. We offer panels in powder coated steel and aluminum as well, so your information will stand up - and stand out! - as well as the post or frame holding it! We apply a protective finish that prevents the ink from fading and scratching. Our panels come in varying thickness and we even offer reflective panels, so your listings can be visible night and day!

Size Matters For Your Real Estate Sign

size matters

IIn the real estate business, everyone knows that it's all about location, location, location. When it comes to signs, it's also about size, shape, and proper placement. Yes, size really does matter! You'll need to amke sure the size of the sign you post on a property looks proportioned. Posting a tiny sign in front of a huge house with a large, sprawling yard looks silly, and is also pointless if it is hardly noticeable and therefore unseen by many.

Alternatively, a sign that is huge stuck in front of a tiny house in a dinky yard might completely overshadow the house, no matter how charming the little abode may be. In both of these scenarios, there are several possible messages being sent: you chose a sign that is disproportionate to the property being advertised, you didn't consider the best option for the property, you didn't present your client's property in the best way possible, you didn't do the best job you could for your client. Lowen signs come in a variety of sizes and shapes, so you can maximize the potential of the property, by working with its size, not against it. Also, don't forget that many residential areas have rules about the size of real estate signage, so make sure you are familiar with the neighborhood guidelines.

A couple of additional considerations... placement of your sign is pretty imporatnt too. Make sure your sign is placed near the street so it can be seen easily. This is especially important when posting signs in front of houses with really large yards.

Also make sure to place the sign at an angle to the road, so people in cars have the longest visibility time before they pass your sign. Consider the traffic on the road or steet too. If the speed limit is 30 mph or more, make sure your panel's print is large enough to be seen. Faster sppeds require larger print!

Eye-Catching Real Estate Signs

It’s not enough for a sign to be legible and functional. Great real estate signs grab attention and keep it. If you want people to remember you and your business, that’s critical. To create attractive signs that are eye-catching you must consider color. Color can make or break your design: bold colors, such as red and blue grab attention but most colors, as long you choose bold shades, will do the same. Contrasting colors, like black and white or yellow and black, usually work well. When incorporating your branding and colors, keep contrast and visibility in mind as some combinations can be difficult on the eyes, making them quite a challenge to read.

Hey, we get it - fonts are fun. Unfortunately, some can be hard to read, especially from a distance. Choose your fonts carefully! Many real estate companies already have logos and fonts that are approved for their agents' signage. However, if you are unaffiliated or work for a broker that allows flexibility when it comes to that, make sure you choose fonts that are easy to read. Serif and script fonts are not ideal as they have flourishes that can make them harder to read. Go with simple, clean fonts that will stand out. Don't overcrowd your signs with too many fonts. If you use more than two fonts on your sign, it becomes busy and chaotic. Stick to one or two fonts at most.

Be You-Nique with Your Real Estate Signs!

be younique

As a real estate agent, you know that there are lots of competitors out there.  Potential clients have tons of options when choosing an agent. You need to stand out from the crowd. What can you do to set yourself apart from the pack? Great signage is one pretty important part. In addition to the key elements listed above, there is another factor that can add a special touch to your signs....YOU! After all, you are unique. You are special. You know that you are the best agent for the job right?  Why not let some of your personality shine through? Riders are a great way to add a personal touch to your signs. Many agents incorporate humor to their signs such as a rider that says “HONEY STOP THE CAR!” or “NOT HAUNTED” for an older home. You can also use a rider to emphasize information about you. Agent riders with your name in bold or your photo can differentiate you from other agents within the same franchise and make your signs more memorable. Lowen Sign Company has many rider options available so you can put your unique stamp on every sign!
